Author Guidelines

 

1. Journal Scope and Focus

National Journal of Original and Applied Research (NJOAR) is an international peer-reviewed, open-access multidisciplinary journal committed to publishing original, high-quality scholarly research across diverse academic disciplines.

The journal welcomes theoretical, empirical, analytical, and applied research that contributes to contemporary academic discourse, policy development, innovation, and societal advancement. NJOAR particularly encourages interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary studies addressing current social, economic, educational, technological, environmental, cultural, and governance-related issues.

The journal invites submissions from researchers, academicians, professionals, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide.

2. Types of Manuscripts

Authors are encouraged to include recent and relevant scholarly references wherever applicable.


3. Submission Requirements

Authors must submit the following documents during manuscript submission:

  • Manuscript File (Anonymized Version)
  • Author Declaration Form
  • Copyright Agreement Form
  • Supplementary Files (if applicable)

The manuscript submitted for peer review must not contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or any identifying information to ensure a double-blind review process.


4. Manuscript Preparation

General Formatting

  • Language: English
  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font Size: 12 pt
  • Line Spacing: 1.5
  • Page Size: A4
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Referencing Style: APA 7th Edition

Authors whose first language is not English are advised to have their manuscripts professionally proofread before submission.


5. Structure of Manuscript

The manuscript should generally include the following sections:

  • Title
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (5–8)
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review / Conceptual Framework
  • Research Objectives or Questions
  • Methodology
  • Results / Findings
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Implications
  • Limitations
  • Future Research Directions
  • References

Tables and figures should be properly numbered and provided in editable format.


6. Ethical Declarations

Authors must include the following declarations where applicable:

Funding Statement

Mention all funding sources supporting the research.

If no funding was received, authors may state:

“This research received no specific grant from any funding agency.”

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest.

If none exist:

“The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Data Availability

Authors should indicate the availability of data used in the study.

Ethical Approval

If human participants or sensitive data were involved, appropriate ethical approval details must be provided.


7. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

NJOAR supports responsible and transparent use of AI-assisted tools.

Permitted Uses

  • Grammar correction
  • Language editing
  • Formatting assistance
  • Improving readability

Prohibited Uses

  • Generating original research findings
  • Creating data or analysis
  • Producing scientific interpretations
  • Writing substantial portions of manuscripts without author oversight

If AI tools were used, authors must disclose this within the manuscript.

Example:

“The authors used AI-assisted tools for language editing and formatting purposes. All content was reviewed and verified by the authors.”

Failure to disclose AI usage may lead to rejection or retraction.


8. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers.

The review process evaluates:

  • originality,
  • methodological quality,
  • academic contribution,
  • clarity,
  • ethical standards,
  • and relevance to the journal scope.

Average review time may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript revisions.


9. Revision Submission

Authors submitting revised manuscripts must provide:

  • Revised Manuscript with Track Changes
  • Clean Revised Copy
  • Detailed Response to Reviewer Comments

All revisions should clearly address reviewer and editorial suggestions.


10. Publication Frequency

NJOAR is published quarterly:

  • March
  • June
  • September
  • December

The journal accepts submissions throughout the year.


11. Open Access Policy

NJOAR follows a Gold Open Access publishing model.

All published articles are freely accessible online without subscription barriers.

Articles are published under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0)

Authors retain copyright of their work.


12. Authorship Policy

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial academic contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.

All authors must:

  • approve the final manuscript,
  • agree to submission,
  • and accept responsibility for the integrity of the work.

Any change in authorship after submission must receive approval from all co-authors and the editorial office.


13. Plagiarism Policy

NJOAR maintains strict ethical standards regarding originality and plagiarism.

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.
  • Similarity should generally remain below acceptable academic limits.
  • Plagiarism, fabricated data, duplicate publication, and unethical practices are strictly prohibited.

Manuscripts found violating publication ethics may be rejected immediately.


14. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of published articles.

By submitting and publishing in NJOAR, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right to publish, archive, and distribute the work as the original publisher.

Published articles may be shared, distributed, and reused under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license with proper attribution.


15. Disclaimer

The views, opinions, interpretations, and conclusions expressed in published articles are solely those of the respective authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of NJOAR, the editorial board, reviewers, or publisher.


Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submission, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows journal guidelines.
  • The work has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • References are complete and correctly formatted.
  • Tables and figures are properly labelled.
  • Ethical approvals and declarations are included where necessary.
  • All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
